CORI PROCESS - IMPORTANT FOR NEW & RETURNING COACHES
Note from Cori Director:
To those returning for another year of coaching, welcome back. To those coaches just starting, welcome to Lynnfield Youth Soccer. All coaches (new and old) please know your efforts allow for a welcoming, safe, and exciting environment for the players. We are fortunate to have such dedicated and caring parents willing to volunteer their time.
This information may be a repeat for some, and new for others, but ALL coaches must complete a series of tasks to be eligible to coach. This required process ensures we are ALL approved to be on the field and work with children under the age of 18, It also makes parents feel at ease knowing that all coaches have gone through a credentialing process.
Please note if this is your first year coaching we must conduct an ID check (either in person or virtual). Please email or text me to schedule a time to connect (781-521-2554). The ID check is Massachusetts State Law and is a one time thing.
Below is the information needed for you to complete this entire process. Once completed, you will receive further instructions from me on how to pick up your Mass Youth Soccer/Lynnfield Youth Soccer credentials. These credentials must be worn at all games and practices. Referees will not allow you to coach on the sideline without these credentials.
Step 1- Annual Registration (Mandatory for ALL coaches)- This needs to be done by everyone, every fall ( or spring if you're new) – regardless of the last time you coached. Please use your full legal name and the same email address when setting up all soccer-related accounts.
Please follow this link for your adult registration: https://secure.sportsaffinity.com/reg/index.asp?sessionguid=&domain=ma%2Dcori%2Eaffinitysoccer%2Ecom

Step 2. This step will VARY based on your past coaching experience with Lynnfield Youth Soccer. If you are coaching for the FIRST time EVER with Lynnfield Youth Soccer, you will need to complete a SafeSport Abuse Prevention course and a Concussion Awareness course. Please skip to B.
For those who coached with Lynnfield Youth Soccer in a previous year please skip to A below.
***Please be aware that the SafeSport Core Training is about 90 minutes, with the refreshers the following 3 years being shorter. Concussion runs about 30 minutes. SafeSport Abuse Prevention training (yearly requirement) taken any time in 2024 is good for the 2024-25 registration year.. Concussion training (two-year requirement) taken June 1, 2023, or later is good for the 2024-25 registration year.
- For those who coached in previous years. - Please use the US Soccer Learning Center to access the SafeSport course and to complete the USSF “Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments” course which meets the Concussion Awareness requirement. I suggest you log into your Sports Connect Account and view if you need to complete one or both courses. Follow these steps to check what you need to do to cross-check what course or courses you need to complete.
- If you need to complete one or both courses follow this link to complete the courses.
- For those that are coaching for the first time please click here. You will need to schedule a time to connect with me for the required ID check as well.
Step 3- These policies need to be reviewed by all coaches:
- Athlete and Participant Safety Policy
- Required Reporting (Mandated Reporter)
- Abuse Prevention Policy (Safe Sport Act)
- Codes of Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policy
- Weather Policy
- Concussion Policy
- Goal Safety Policy
Once these steps are completed I will follow up with more details.
This entire process can also be found here.
Lastly, and as a reminder, if this is your first year coaching we must conduct an ID check (either in person or virtual). Please email or text me to schedule a time to connect (781-521-2554).
